This is the site of filming however its not his actual home. I have a friend who went on vacation to PEI and rented a house and it was this house. The house is used for filming and when he is not filming it is rented out to tourists. Boy would i love to stay there. Apparently the view is better than it appears on the show, and the house is amazing in real life, even more amazing than it looks on tv.

Yes, never seems like it at the time, but time really may heal all wounds.
Since losing Matthew, we’ve had 2 more kids and are now a happy, healthy
family of five. Matthew’s “gift” to us was probably some awareness of how
happy and lucky we are.

I just happened upon this after listening to the Waterboys and having a Google. My wife had several ectopic pregnancies many years ago and we eventually adopted. Your story was, therefore, very poignant. I hope your pain eventually fades.

This is not his house. There was a broadcast of at the table with Chef Michael Smith and there is filming of him in his real kitchen. Its much larger and set up as a pro kitchen.

On January 31, 1968, I turned 18. Guys had to register for the draft in those days, so I got to drive my mothers car to school. (I was a senior in high school). After school let out and as I was driving to the draft board, the news started coming that all hell had broken loose in Vietnam; the Tet offensive had begun. Things would never be the same again. At about 3:15 p.m. as I turned my car into the driveway of the Selective Service office in Santa Ana, California "Time Has Come Today" began to play on the radio. I don't remember if I was listening to KRLA, KHJ or KFWB. It was a very appropriate song for the occasion. I liked the song then and I still like it now.

I've been watching Chef at Home since it started and I had read that
Michael Smith lived there and they had built the kitchen studio as an
addition to the house. Of course that doesn't really make much
sense and when you see other angles of the house in the show you can
tell that it is and always was part of the original design. I had always thought he lived there and had another kitchen in another part of the
house. So where does he really live??

He does not and never has lived there. I was specifically rented to shoot the show. I know this because I stayed there two summers ago and spoke with the real owner about it. Its a retirement home for a family from Halifax and they rent it out fairly regularly. A freind of thiers works for Food Network Canada and asked if they would be interested in renting it to them to shoot the show. Sorry to rain on anyones Michael Smith PEI fantasies.
